Gallery Post: Stunning Micro-Wedding At Crescent Pond Weddings in Block Island, RI
Sitting down to write this blog post, I’m realising how hard it is to put into the right words how amazing this experience was capturing Maddie and Ebben’s day at Crescent Pond. Block Island is one of my top places to work, with famous coastlines, cliffs, gorgeous venues, and the classic New England vibe. And Maddie and Ebben defined small-town New England love, with their first look on the beach, a gorgeous spread of local delicacies, and island-sourced florals.
The Venue: Crescent Pond Weddings
A Rustic & Romantic Island Getaway at the Heart of Block Island, Rhode Island
Okay, there are a LOT of venues out there, even in a place as small as Block Island. Just off the coast of Rhode Island, is this 3x7-mile oasis with beautiful green foliage in the summer, tons of sandy and rocky shorelines, fresh water ponds, and the cutest little town that screams romantic comedy. So it’s no surprise that people are lining up around the block (no pun intended) to tie the knot here.
The Block-Island Based Couple
Maddie and Ebben were such a joy to capture, because they are the ultimate Block Island couple. Their love for each other is seamlessly intertwined with their love for this idyllic island, creating a wedding day that exuded pure, unadulterated bliss. From the sun-kissed shoreline to the picturesque lighthouses, every image of their special day is infused with the authentic charm and coastal beauty that define Block Island. It was evident that Maddie and Ebben's connection to this place runs deep, and their wedding was a celebration not only of their love, but also of the cherished memories they have created on the island. Their wedding day reminded me a lot of a wedding I shot last summer, which you can see here!
As a wedding photographer, it was truly captivating to witness how Maddie and Ebben effortlessly incorporated their love story into every aspect of their wedding. They seamlessly weaved the island's natural beauty and their personal narrative into the fabric of their special day, creating an atmosphere that was as deeply rooted in tradition as it was in genuine, heartfelt emotion. Their wedding was a testament to the enduring power of love and the significance of finding a place where the heart feels at home. Maddie and Ebben's connection to Block Island served as a profound reminder that a wedding is not just a single day, but a reflection of a couple's journey, experiences, and the countless moments that have led them to that beautiful, life-changing day.
The Wedding Day: A Brief Run Down
After the first look, they headed back to Crescent Pond for the ceremony. While the weather wasn’t ideal (what else can we expect from Spring in New England?), the overcast skies gave a moodiness and softness to the day as they said their I-Dos. Standing under the handmade driftwood alter, they exchanged their vows, rings, and excited glances until they were officially husband and wife.
Every single detail of the cocktail hour and reception was thought through (even the custom-made cutting boards from a local artisan!). Out back by the pond was the canoe, repurposed as an ice bath for the bottles of handpicked champagne, wine, and beer.
All in all, the day was a dream: from the serene morning beach walk to the lively and meaningful celebrations that unfolded throughout the day, Maddie and Ebben's wedding at Crescent Pond was nothing short of perfection. It was an honour to capture the genuine love, joy, and artful design that infused every moment, creating a day that will be cherished for a lifetime.
